Hi, I'm Geordie and I can help you buy your solar system so you don't lose money (or sleep).

Are you confused about solar? Been given conflicting information and don't know who to believe?

Don't know which installer, what equipment or which quote to choose?

Well MOST people ARE confused! I know this as a former Solar salesperson of five years, having helped hundreds of people buy solar systems, and about nine out of every ten were unsure about how to choose the best solar quote.

Solar is a major long term investment, so you really want to make sure you're going to get a system that reduces your power bill by as much as possible AND that won't give you costly and STRESSFUL problems in the short or long term.

How will you know if your system is designed and installed so that it'll produce the maximum savings on your power bills? There is always more than one option for the design of a solar system for your particular roof and power usage pattern. The design usually has THE biggest affect on how much money you'll save. BUT when you get a quote there will almost always only be ONE design presented to you (and sometimes none).

As a common example, many solar buyers are unknowingly buying systems that provide them with SIGNIFICANTLY lower savings than they SHOULD provide because the installer can save money by doing a FAST installation rather than the BEST PERFORMANCE installation.

And there are several other ways for a supplier to reduce their costs at your ongoing expense.

As for the quality and reliability of a system, how will you know you're not likely to encounter problems and head aches after the installation, in a month, a year or five years?

Problems like a leaking roof due to poor workmanship, or inverter breakdowns due to improper placement.

And how will you know you're getting value for money? What's a fair price for which equipment, and competent installation?

The principle of solar is not complicated, but there are so many variables involved in the details of a solar system such that different people sometimes tell you conflicting things, usually because they are biased towards what they can sell you, and sometimes because they're not well educated enough in solar.

You would need to be quite knowledgeable to evaluate how good (or bad) any proposed solar system is going to be.

To evaluate a quote you would need to know the facts - not the myths - about:

  • Micro, String and Hybrid inverters and when and why they should be used.
  • which brand of inverter is best for your situation,
which inverters you should steer clear of.
  • Poly/Multi/Mono solar panels
  • Which panels are best for your situation (price and performance wise).
  • The several different warranties that come with a solar system.
  • How your electricity usage varies during the day and the times of the year and how that should influence the design of the system.
  • Shading from roof obstacles, trees, buildings or structures, how it affects the system and how to design the system to account for it.
  • How much it costs to do a proper job, and what is too cheap to be done properly.

If you don't know about these factors (and others) then you are relying on other's advice, but the problem with that is the advice you receive is always biased toward the interests of the person providing the advice, it's not 100% in YOUR best interest.

Of course the system sellers are going to say their offering is the best solution for you. No unbiased advice there.

And the seemingly independent "free" advice available from websites providing their trusted companies to quote you are biased because they get a payment from those solar companies each time they recommend them. You don't necessarily get the best companies for the job, you get the companies that paid to quote you.

And they have to recoup the cost of that payment from.... you, in the price of the system.

Friends may recommend who they used because they have had no issues...yet. But even more importantly how do they know if their system is making all the power it could? If it's making only 80% of what it should due to a poor design or poor installation how would they even know they should be making more? That is certainly the situation some of them are unknowingly in. Over 10 years+ that's a huge shortfall of power and $ savings.

So, how do you know what is good advice you can trust? That's where I come in. I will educate and advise you, taking the confusion and guesswork out of choosing your solar system and supplier.

I don't sell solar systems, nor do I get any payment from solar companies for recommending any quote or for putting you in touch with them (like the 'free' services do).

I have the technical knowledge AND the industry experience to help you choose a good solar system from your quotes. Or advise you to get more quotes!

I am a qualified Electronic Technician, a qualified Home Sustainability Assessor and have sold solar systems for five years, four of those with a multi award winning solar company.

More important than any of that I have a genuine concern for solar buyers that could wind up with stressful problems to deal with and less return on their investment than they should have.

AND, my very affordable service won't really cost you anything because it will SAVE you more money than it costs, either right off the bat or over the years, by making sure you get a well performing system.

Sometimes it'll save you WAY more money.

Most importantly my services will provide you with peace of mind and relieve anxiety over your purchase of a solar system.

So take a look down the page at the three levels of my service you can choose from to help you choose the best solar, and pick the service that suits you best. I look forward to helping you make your solar purchase!
